Over the years I have discovered that, even though there are many legitimate practitioners of bodywork, there are also
many individuals whose experience, techniques and talents fall far short of their claim to professionalism. As with any trade
or industry, these individuals help to perpetuate a negative stereotype for those of us who truly wish to share in the growth
of others.
I have found that many men long for a deeper connection with their own bodies. I believe that most of our
education and social training has taken us "out" of our bodies - away from the simple pleasures of touching and being touched.
Think about it, as kids we learned to explore the world (including our own bodies) through our five physical senses,
including our sense of touch. Almost without exception, everyone likes to touch and to be touched. We are inherently - without
question - tactile beings.
Regardless of whether or not you have previously experienced the benefits of a therapeutic
full-body massage, you will find that it is a wonderful way not only to relax and release tension, tightness and soreness
from your physical body but, when properly administered, it can provide a wonderful means of mental, emotional and psychological
reprieve from the everyday stresses to which we are so often exposed in this hectic world.
I began studying massage
therapy as a result of a workshop in meditation which changed my life forever. I found that during the process of meditation
my senses came "alive" and that I was able to experience my world from a much more profound, "esoteric" perspective.
So
I began to study these newly found awarenesses. Subsequently this led me on a search for ways to share these experiences with
others through the art of massage and bodywork.
To me, massage is SO MUCH MORE than throwing you onto the table and
digging into your muscles. I believe that massage is an intimate means of communicating, of sharing, of communion, of blending
energies in a special ritualistic and sacred manner. I am never working ON you but am continually working WITH you, not DOING
TO YOU but SHARING WITH YOU!
Over the years I have continued to study, practice and refine my techniques. I am always
learning - always experiencing.
As a result of my experiences, I was asked to conduct workshops so that I could share
my methods with others. I spend a great deal of time conducting private sessions, workshops and group get-togethers for men
of all orientations, gay, bi- and straight.
I have already published a 6-part audio cassette series entitled, "Living
Fully, Living Magically" as well as several other individual audio cassettes on which I guide the listener through various
deeply relaxing meditation and visualization experiences.
I am currently in the process of finalizing another audio
series dealing specifically with the study of our relationships with our bodies - from our manners of self-talk and self-expression
all the way through our own particular methods and means of masturbation and self-excitation. In this program, I also explore
ways to enhance and nurture this dynamic sensual relationship through massage, bodywork, guided relaxation, visualization
and meditation.
I have dedicated my practice to helping men nurture and improve their relationships with themselves
and others therapeutically through the modalities of sensual touch and bodywork.
I have taught a variety of workshops
in massage, meditation and metaphysics through organizations such as The Learning Annex (Philadelphia), Open University (Washington
DC and Boston), Let Our Voices Echo, and Success and Potentials Unlimited International. Many of these workshops have also
been sponsored by gay community centers as well as regional Gay Metaphysical and Spiritual Associations.
